On the Invocation of the Name of Jesus

The Invocation of the Name of Jesus is a way of prayer perhaps more familiar to Christians of the East than of the West. This form has a universal appeal to Orthodox and Romans, to Anglicans and Protestants.

This short work has a purely practical character. It has been written with the hope of giving a little help to Christians in the world - or even perhaps in the cloister - who desire to follow the 'way of the Name.' It is the outcome of twenty-five years of meditation and, so to speak, of inner experiment on the subject. Therefore it makes, we should not say difficult, but perhaps rather concentrated reading.
